When an AI answers, your business should be in it.

More and more people ask ChatGPT or Perplexity instead of a search engine. Generative Engine Optimization, GEO for short, makes sure these systems can read your website, understand it and name it as a source.

  • Also for websites we did not build
  • No placement guarantee, an honest assessment instead

Settled up front

Three details for a first assessment.

So we can quickly tell you where your website stands and what is worth doing.

  1. 01

What do you want to be named for?

The three to five questions where an AI should mention your business. For example: who builds conservatories in Hamburg?

  2. 02

    Who gets named today?

Ask those questions in ChatGPT or Perplexity yourself and note which providers come up.

  3. 03

What does the website run on?

WordPress, a site builder or a custom solution. That decides what can be changed quickly.

Search is shifting, but not completely.

For many searches, Google now shows an AI Overview above the results. Add ChatGPT, Perplexity and other assistants that answer questions directly and link only a few sources. If you are not in there, part of your prospects drop you from the comparison before it has even started.

Classic SEO does not become obsolete. The AI systems rely on pages they find through search. So GEO does not replace SEO, it extends it: content has to be found, and it also has to be understood correctly and quoted.

What an AI needs to name you.

Language models read a website differently from people. They need clear text, unambiguous facts and pages that can be fetched without detours. These are the points we check:

  • Content is in the HTML as text, not loaded later by JavaScript
  • AI crawlers such as GPTBot or PerplexityBot are not accidentally blocked in robots.txt
  • Structured data describes the business, services, location and common questions
  • Every service has its own page with one clear statement
  • Questions customers actually ask are answered directly and fully
  • Name, address and services match across every channel

This website is built that way itself: it is delivered as finished HTML, carries structured data on every page and answers the most common questions directly on its key pages.

Go to the form

Text that can be quoted.

An AI is most likely to pick up statements that stand on their own: a sentence that answers a question, a concrete number, a clear distinction. Phrases like "holistic solutions" add nothing because they say nothing.

So we do not rework copy for keywords but for clarity: who you are, what you do, for whom, where and on what terms. That helps the AI and the people reading your site.

How we go about it.

It starts with an inventory and ends with a website that AI systems can read, technically and in content.

  1. 01Collect the questions you want to be named for
  2. 02Check who shows up in the answers today and why
  3. 03Check the technology: crawlability, robots.txt, structured data, load time
  4. 04Sharpen content and add missing pages
  5. 05Check again after a few weeks to see what has changed

What GEO does not promise.

Nobody can guarantee that an AI will name your business. Answers vary with wording, model and timing, and the providers do not disclose how they pick sources.

Anyone selling you a fixed spot in ChatGPT is selling something they do not control. What can be influenced is the foundation: a website that is found, read and understood correctly.
